The VeChain ecosystem has welcomed the launch of the Oily dApp by UCO Network, a project focused on environmental sustainability. This application aims to revolutionize the recycling of used cooking oil by leveraging blockchain technology to promote efficient waste management and reward eco-friendly practices.
This was announced via a social media post recently, disclosing that VeChain is now the home for Oily dApp.
Oily dApp launched last Wednesday, introducing features like “learn to earn” and “map to earn” in its initial phase, with “recycle to earn” teased as coming soon.
The “learn to earn” feature incentivizes users to engage with educational content. Users can earn rewards by acquiring new skills and knowledge about the proper handling and recycling of used cooking oil, blockchain technology, and sustainable practices. The goal is to make learning both beneficial and profitable.
Similarly, the “map to earn” feature allows users to contribute to the community by mapping out restaurants that produce used cooking oil. This crowd-sourced mapping effort helps the UCO Network promote efficient recycling practices and increase the number of restaurants recycling UCO.
In this initial phase, the team has whitelisted 50 oil busters. Participants in mapping can earn rewards for their contributions.
Meanwhile, the upcoming “recycle to earn” feature will enable users to earn rewards by actively participating in the recycling of used cooking oil. By properly disposing of used cooking oil at designated collection points, users can contribute to environmental sustainability and be rewarded for their efforts.
Notably, the Oily dApp is currently in a testing phase, with the team relying on the VeChain community to provide valuable feedback for a smoother future launch. Additionally, during the announcement of Oily dApp joining VeChain’s VeBetterDAO, the project team revealed that they had received a grant from VeChain.
