Investing.com – Japan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday as sector and sector losses dragged shares lower.

The best performers of the session were Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:) rose 3.64% or 148.00 points to trade at 4,218.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Daikin Industries Co.,Ltd. (TYO:) added 3.30% or 665.00 points, finishing at 20,845.00 and Toho Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was up 2.98%, or 146.00 points, at 5,048.00 in late trade.
The worst performance of the session was Renesas Electronics Corp. (TYO:), which fell 4.03% or 102.00 points to close at 2428.00. Mitsui and Co., LLC (TYO:) fell 3.45% or 225.00 points to close at 6,297.00 Insurance group MS&AD Holdings (TYO:) fell 3.45% or 271.00 points to 7,579.00.
Advancing shares outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2,537 to 1,123, with 210 ending unchanged.
The index, which measures implied volatility in Nikkei 225 options, rose 0.05% to 21.96, a new one-month high.
Oil for April delivery rose 0.31%, or 0.24, to $78.17 a barrel. In commodities trading, Brent crude for May delivery rose 0.36%, or 0.30, to $82.51 a barrel, while the April gold futures contract fell 0.30%, or 6.65. , up to $2,181.95 per troy ounce.
USD/JPY rose 0.34% to 147.44 and EUR/JPY rose 0.44% to 161.25.
US Dollar Index futures fell 0.03% to 102.43.
