Google owner Alphabet (NASDAQ:) said Thursday it is temporarily halting the creation of images of people using its Gemini artificial intelligence model and plans to unveil an improved version soon.
“We are already working to resolve recent issues with Gemini’s imaging function,” the company said in a post on X.
“We are going to pause the creation of people images and will soon re-release an improved version,” the company added.
Earlier this month, the tech giant launched an image generation feature using Gemini AI. However, recent feedback from social media users has highlighted problems with the model sometimes producing incorrect historical images.
On Wednesday, the tech giant released Gemma, a group of free “open models” that allow third-party developers and businesses to build artificial intelligence software.
