Vanguard named a former BlackRock ETF executive as its new CEO, replacing outgoing CEO Tim Buckley, who announced his plan to step down in February.
Salim Ramji, who left his post as head of BlackRock’s iShares and index investing division in January, will take over as CEO on July 8, the company announced Tuesday.
“The Board welcomes Salim to the leadership team and looks forward to working closely with him as we strengthen and expand our mission and purpose with the best interests of individual investors at our core,” Mark Loughridge, Vanguard’s lead independent director, said in a statement. .
