BEIJING (Reuters) – China has stronger countermeasures if the United States continues to violate and compromise the country’s sovereignty and security interests on key issues or hold back the development of Chinese firms, state media said on Friday.
The remarks came in a post on the social media site Yuyuan Tantian, affiliated with Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, which cited sources with government knowledge of foreign policy.
The United States on Wednesday accused China’s leadership of supporting Russia’s war in Ukraine and warned Beijing could face further sanctions in response from the United States and other NATO countries.
