Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in indices and sectors led shares higher.
At the end of trading in Taiwan, quotes rose by 0.44% and reached a new three-month high.
The top gainers at the end of the session were shares of General Interface Solution GIS Holding Ltd (TW:), which rose by 9.97%, or 4.85 points, to close at 53.50. EverFocus Electronics Corp (TW:) rose 9.87%, or 6.10 points, to close at 67.90, while Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:) rose 8.58%, or 6.10 points. 6.30 p., and completed trading at around 79.70.
The worst performers of the session were Loop Telecommunications International Inc (TW:), which fell 10.00% or 8.80 points to trade at 79.20 at the close. Cub Elecparts Inc (TW:) was down 8.41%, or 9.50 points, to finish at 103.50, while United Renewable Energy Co Ltd (TW:) was down 6.30. %, or 0.63 p., to 9.37.
Falling stocks outnumbered rising ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by a 0-to-0 ratio.
Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW:) shares rose to an all-time high; an increase of 8.58% or 6.30 to 79.70. United Renewable Energy Co Ltd (TW:) shares fell to a three-year low; losing 6.30% or from 0.63 to 9.37.
Oil for February delivery rose 0.84%, or 0.62, to $74.87 a barrel. In commodities, Brent crude for March delivery rose 0.71%, or 0.55, to $77.60 a barrel, while the February gold futures contract fell 0.06%, or 1.68. , and traded at $2,663.72 per troy ounce.
USD/TWD rose 0.28% to 32.87, while TWD/CNY was unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.
US Dollar Index futures rose 0.02% to 108.39.
