Investing.com – Just Eat Takeaway.com (AS:) announced a partnership with Amazon (NASDAQ:) to offer members of the e-commerce giant’s Prime service free delivery on select food orders in three European countries.
In a statement on Wednesday, Just Eat Takeaway – Europe’s largest food delivery group – said the collaboration will begin through the Lieferando brand in Germany and Austria and Just Eat in Spain. The company added that the move will be “mutually beneficial” for Amazon Prime subscribers and Just Eat Takeaway partners.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to further enhance consumers’ everyday convenience while increasing loyalty and affordability,” said Just Eat Takeaway commercial director Andrew Kenny.
Amazon Prime members will get early access to Just Eat Takeaway’s new loyalty program called Plus, which includes “exclusive offers and discounts” at select restaurants and retailers. By linking their Prime and Just Eat Takeaway accounts, customers will be able to receive free delivery via Plus on any purchase over €15.
The move comes after Amazon recently expanded its partnership with Grubhub’s US division Just Eat Takeaway.
Shares in Amsterdam-listed Just Eat Takeaway rose slightly in morning trading.
