(Reuters) – Chrysler is recalling more than 211,000 vehicles in the United States due to a software fault that could disable the electronic stability control system, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Saturday.
Due to a malfunction, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) control module may disable the electronic stability control system, the regulator said.
“Driving with the electronic stability control system disabled may increase the risk of a crash,” the report states.
According to NHTSA, the recall affects certain 2022 Dodge Durango and Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 vehicles manufactured by Stellantis-owned Chrysler.
Dealers will update the control module software at no cost, NHTSA says.
