(Reuters) – Virgin Galactic has taken four tourists to the edge of space and back aboard its spaceplane, marking its second flight this year, the company founded by Richard Branson said on Saturday.
The Galactic 07 mission carried Turkish, American and Italian passengers to an altitude of about 55 miles (88.51 km) during a flight that lasted just over an hour.
The space tourism company said the mission lifted off and returned to Spaceport America in New Mexico on Saturday.
This marked the last commercial flight of Virgin’s VSS Unity spaceplane, as the company is currently producing fourth-generation spacecraft that are expected to enter commercial service in 2026, the company said in a statement.
