Elon Musk said that X, his social network, is exploring the idea of eliminating the display of likes and shares on posts.
Speaking at Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference on Wednesday, the billionaire also said X is close to obtaining a money transmitter license in New York, expecting approval in the next few months.
Musk’s comments come a day after Company X, formerly known as Twitter, won a $250 million copyright infringement lawsuit.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Aleta Trauger in Nashville, Tennessee, largely dismissed a lawsuit against X brought by 17 music publishers who alleged copyright infringement on nearly 1,700 songs, accusing the platform of allowing users to share music without permission. .
Judge Trauger said the publishers could not adhere to a theory of “comprehensive general liability for infringement” against X, which Musk acquired for $44 billion in October 2022.
